Paws Of Destruction

'Paws Of Destruction' is a game I produced with Sam Lloyd over 4 days for the 2025 GMTK jam.

Paws Of Destruction is a chaotic scramble to rapidly move furniture out of the destructive path of your excietable puppy!

Roles:
- Gameplay Designer :
Planned player experience and developed plan to make the player experience a reality. Tested prototype to improve dragging inputs.
- UI Designer : Iterated on UI to seperate the key information player needs to see. Dog paw is rounder and decreases clockwise to intuitively relate to time whereas the destruction bar is shaped as a bar.
- UX Designer : Added camera shake and VFX on destruction / Created dog animation / sourced and added SFX

- 2D artist
- Marketing / Graphic Designer

What I learnt from this project:

- Rapid Prototyping: This project was the last of 3 game jam projects I worked on between my 2nd and 3rd year. I was really aiming to improve my prototyping ability in a short space of time. This meant being really critical on what would be critical to get done for the core features.

- Game Feel: From the conceptualization of this project I had a really clear vision on how the game should feel. The general feeling should be comedic and fast-paced with the dog a clear source of destruction. Something I also wanted to improve on before 3rd year was developing game feel. Camera shake / VFX and audio were all added to reinforce the core experience of humorous destruction.

Dragon's Den

Falmouth University holds a dragons den event where 6 applicants are chosen to pitch in front of a panel of dragons who would evaluate the buisness plans to decide how £6000 would be diveded amongst the applicants.

Our application to publish paws of destruction as a mobile game was chosen so we developed a pitch and a buisness plan of how we would make the gme profitable. Whilst we didn't win any money we were offered free access to Hertzians services and mentorship from the company to help us with our game.

It was a very useful experience as we had to consider commercial factors in the decision making of the game as well as how to best
